Sikkim is a tiny Himalayan state with profound diversity. The state has the steepest rise in altitude over the shortest distance and has within its 7,096 sq. kms the entire climate range, from tropical to temperate to alpine, bestowing on the land an intense natural heritage.The capital of Sikkim is Gangtok. Sikkim shares its border with Nepal in the West and the Tibetan plateau rising from its northern border and Darjeeling of West Bengal in the South.
In this beautiful Himalaya lies the Sikkim Judicial Academy. The Sikkim Government provided 2.92 acres of land at Sokeythang, Gangtok for construction of the Sikkim Judicial Academy. Hon'ble Mr. Jusitce Altamas Kabir, Judge, Supreme Court of India, laid the foundation stone for the academy at Sokeythnag on 14th May, 2012. The Sikkim Judicial Academy (phase-I) was inaugurated on 27.06.2018.
For the construction of Academy a sum of Rs. 15.00 Crores was granted under the 13th Finance Commission.
